Talkin' 'bout my generation...

I'm taking a short break from listening to the Democratic debate tonight. Hearing both candidates, I began to wonder if this really is a generational thing. Certainly much has been said about race and gender in this race for the White House. Maybe not by the candidates so much, but certainly by media sources and blogs. But not much is said about this being about Boomers v/s X'ers. I want to think about this a little more, I'll have to wait until after the debate.

But Obama IS a boomer! This just makes me crazy! I'm a boomer (barely, but still), and he's older than I am.

Ms. Cornelius,

It depends on what source you consult. Some mark 1964 as the cut off for boomers, other sources say anyone born after 1960 but before 1982 is in generation X--although I like the new tag "survivors" better.

I guess what I mean is that Obama represents the same "change" in the establishment that the Clinton's represented 20 years ago. And the Clinton's inablility to recognize that is what seems strange to me
